EKG (Electrocardiogram)

An electrocardiogram test, or EKG, is a non-invasive procedure used to measure electrical signals that come from your heart. An electrical signal is sent out each time your heart beats. This test is an initial test used to detect and diagnose most cardiac abnormalities.

ABI (Ankle-Brachial Index)

An ankle-brachial index test, or ABI, is used to monitor your blood flow. This test can diagnose serious circulatory problems in a timely manner by using a simple, painless, and quick test. It is commonly used to detect peripheral artery disease (PAD), which blocks arteries in your arms and legs. This is a non-invasive procedure that only takes 10-15 minutes.

Exercise Stress Test

An exercise stress test, also referred to as a treadmill test, is another cardiac related test. Heart rate, breathing, EKG stats, and blood pressure will be monitored during the exam. This test is used to find out how well your heart handles work when it needs more oxygen. Sometimes it can detect cardiac problems that cannot be detected in a resting EKG. The results can help determine what type of exercise is best, diagnose coronary artery disease, and diagnose or prevent other heart-related problems.

PFT (Pulmonary Function Testing)

Pulmonary Function Testing, or PFT, is a non-invasive test that is used to evaluate your lungs and respiratory system. A PFT is conducted with a Spirometry, which uses a mouthpiece device and electronic machine. This test is very useful to detect medical conditions, such as asthma and COPD. The test can indicate needed treatment and can be used to monitor patient's progress.

Holter Monitor

A Holter monitor is a portable EKG, electrocardiogram. Just like an EKG, the Holter Monitor will record the electrical heart signals. The monitor is commonly worn for 24-72 hours to evaluate heart activity, even away from the office. It may help to detect cardiac conditions, even while you sleep.
